Programming Avaya IP Office Auto Attendant

Hello:

I am new to using Avavya IP office and trying to figure out a used one that I bought. I am trying to record the greeting for the auto attendant and when I dial *8401 it gives me a busy signal. 84 is in teh short code list and looks correct to me (similar to 81, 82 and 83). Not sure what to doa tthis point.

My best deduction at this stage is that you have an IP500 V1, & you are trying to use embedded VM without the necessary compact flash memory card.

Hi there.

When you create an auto attendant in embedded voicemail, it gives you 4 codes. They are NOT short codes IN the Short codes item. These are specific to the new auto attendant.

First, make sure "enable local recordings" is checked.
Verify that there are no other matching short codes.
Using an intercom key, dial the short code FROM the auto attendant you wish to use.

The canned voice will say "To listen to the recording press 1, change the recording press 2, SAVE the recording press 3."
The first 3 (Morning, afternoon, evening) are for something simple like "Good Morning, thank you for calling ABC corporation", "Good Afternoon, thank you for calling...", and "Good evening. thank you for calling..."
The fourth item is for the instructions. "For Fred press 1, barney press 2..."

The recordings have to be at least 3 seconds in length or they won't be accepted.

To test, create a short code to go to the autoattendant you created, Dial it, and it should sound like what you did, and any keystrokes (keypad buttons) will work as you have set them up.

First of all.

Check if voicemail is working.

Dial *17 .

If voicmemail is working, you should hear something like 'you have xx new messages'

If you hear busy tone, then no voicemail is available.

Did you put a name for you recording?
