I am simply trying to program a # directly from the phone keypad. Note that while I am a code writer, I do not have access or tools to program the phone other than as a standard user using a keypad entry.
Here are the instructions for auto dialing on a G3si using a 6400 phone. Note that this feature must be set up by your administrator.
To Program your Personal List Numbers:
1. Get dial tone
2. Press *0
3. Press 1 for Personal List
4. Dial list item number (1-30)
5. Dial number to be programmed (up to 24 digits) followed by the # sign
6. Repeat steps 5-7 for additional items on the same list
To Call: Press #7 and dial item number

Yes, but if we can find the setting that *0 activates on Jolagues's switch then (a) i can get it working on mine and (b) you can ask your pbx admin what the setting is on yours and then program it that way.
In theory.

I believe that from the phone you will be unable add the # in a dialing sequence. Pressing # tells the pbx that your are through with that entry. Your system administrator will have to enter it in from the terminal.
*0 is the FAC for program access code and roche is correct if pound is pressed from the station it tells the switch you are done. You will need to have your admin program this. José
Well, the administrator _is_ able to program a # into the speed dialer. Unfortunately, he is unwilling to do this for one person ... is afraid he would end up doing it for hundreds of people. If anyone figures out how a "non-administrator" can do this, I sure would like to hear about it!
Again, thanks to all who responded to my initial inquiry!
