I found several threads on this subject but I am still not clear on what needs to be removed and the order to remove the translations.

This is my list of ASA commands so far..
for Clan cards: Change ip-interface xxx (set the "enable interface" to No)
for data modules: disp data link xx
remove data xxx
remove ip-interface
for cabinet: remove cabinet xx

Are you going to remove the entire Port Network or just 1 cabinet in the stack?

Kevin

What is the difference between port network and cabinet? Basically the G650 will be decommissioned.

I need to remove the trunk groups, then announcements on the valboard and the CLAN and Med Pro card on that cabinet.

you must remove all of the programming. "X" out any station on the TN793 (it would help to disable TTI as well, don't forget to re-enable it after the card is removed), remove members from any trunk groups the TN464s are in, remove any signaling groups, finally remove the "DS1" forms ad well. You must remove the media processor programming as well (another IP interface), you must remove any announcements on the VAL board, and finally remove the VAL board. basically, all of the TN packs need to be removed (not physically, logically), before you can remove the IPSI (last thing you do), and then remove "cabinet x". You can do a "change circuit" and try removing each card as the programming is removed, when you are down to just the IPSI, then that is the final thing to be removed...

Thx Mitch.

I had trouble removing the cards from "change cabinet x". It wouldn't let me and kept on saying "must remove translations on card first" even though I did remove them.

After I removed the IPSI board the cards were no longer in the "change cabinet x" form and I was able to remove the CO, VAL and the power card.

did you disable TTI? "change sys features", page 3, "Terminal Translation Initialization (TTI Enabled?", stroke that to "n", then "status TTI", until it shows all boards completed. Then you should be able to "change circuit" and remove any digital/analog packs... remember to enable TTI when you are done.
