Problems with caller id on cell phones

I am running a Definity G3SI r10 and have a question about caller ID. When we call out to normal land lines caller id is passed normally but when we call out do cell phones "Unknown ID" is displayed. As of last year we switched prefixes to a breand new new block of 1000. I called the phone company and they told me that it's up to each cell phone carrier to fix the problem...is this true? I would really think it to ridiculous that I would have to call each cell phone company in the world just to have caller ID displayed. Is there somewhere im my switch where I can check and modifiy my caller ID settings to make sure it's not a problem on my side? How can I resolve this problem?

do your land lines and cell calls go out over the same trunk groups?

might be worth checking "isdn public unknown numbering" tables
 
Unfortunately this is true. We have been going through the same thing as we have added another prefix and 9000 numbers. The phone company or your provider has this added to the NANPA as a new prefix. It is up to the other carriers (once they receive the updates) to program their switches with the new prefix. As I have already said we have been going through he same thing. Some carriers are better than other about installing these. It may take some time to resolve this.

Wow that is really a bummer. I have another question involving the same issue. How can I monitor what information is passed when calls are placed? Like I want to see the caller ID and other information is getting passed to the phone company when a user picks up the phone and dials a number?
 
It should be going out like it was. You can check this like 4merlucent has said, by using the "disp isdn pub" command.

That only alows me to change the digits that are being passed? I actually want to see in real time what is going on as a user dials out and what digits are being sent over my trunks.
 
If you have the ability to do a "list trace" you can do a list trace on a station to see what information is being passed.
 
You can do a "li trace sta xxxx" and see what goes on with it. You can also call out to one of your own numbers with call-id and see what comes across the display.

Ok I just noticed on my trace it's not passing a name with my caller id...yours says MIKE JONES and mine says NO-CPName...could this be part of the problem? Where do I change this so I pass the name of the station im calling from?
 
Ok I figured out how to pass the name in the caller ID...next question is there a way to modify this? So instead of sending out each individuals station id to just send a standard one that says Hospital or something?
