Trying to setup VPNremote on the 5621SW IP phone to a Linksys RV016 VPN router.

It keeps erroring out at IKE Phase1 no response. Tried various different settings such 3des, des, MD5, SHA1, and they all error out. Tried turning off PFS and also no dice.

Tried using various preshared keys as well (changing them on both sides, of course) and no luck.

The Local LAN of the firewall is 192.168.55.0/24. I also set this as the Remote Net#1 on the phone. I also set a Virtual IP on a different subnet which is 192.168.2.10

Anyone else having problems getting VPN tunnels to work properly?

Thanks

Have you looked at the IP Office tech tips - about 4 now. Not one for the Linksys RV016 but they all basically cover the same settings of DES, SHA1 etc.

I did check those out. I looked at the one for the Netgear and also the one for the Sonicwall. Both pretty much use the same basic VPN settings without XAUTH.

The only difference I saw regarding what those articles say and what I see on my phone was regarding the password settings.

The articles say that it should say "Stored in Flash" and my phone just says "Password N/A". Not sure if that is what it is supposed say or not.

We also have a GTA Gnatbox firewall that I had tried to configure VPN for and experienced the exact issue with it saying IKE Phase1 No response. The firewalls logs also indicate "Phase 1 - No proposal chosen". This is the similiar error that I am getting with the RV016.

Like I said, checked and reset all the settings like pre-shared key, encryption, etc... many times over and cannot connect.

I am having the same issues.
anyone have any ideas.

I saw another posting where someone mentions they would post a FAQ discussing connecting vpn remote phones to a linksys RV042, but they never posted it.

Anyone !??

Hi all,

We have just tried to connect a remote IP Phone to an IP Office 406 V2 behind a Netgear FVS338 this morning. We had the same issue but that doesn't mean our solution will fix yours but we expect so.

It was just the IKE ID which was fvx_remote instead of fvx_remote.com (discovered by having a look to the logs). In the FVS 338, it is declared as fvx_remote ...

Hope this helps

Kind regards
Philippe
