Problem performing nslookup on domain

I have a Windows 2000 DNS server with an authoritative primary zone. The zone contains an SOA, NS, some alias, hosts, and MX records.

When I query the zone through nslookup, it will only show me the nameserver and the internet address, but no other records (nslookup -q=all domain.name).

When I query specifically for MX records (nslookup -q=mx domain.name), no MX records are displayed.

If I run nslookup in command mode and type ls -a domain.name, it will list all records (including MX records), but I cannot query them individually.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
John

start nslookup
type: SET type=MX
enter the domain

Here is a snapshop of the zone in question:

myzone.com

(same as parent folder) SOA fs1-dns.myzone1.com
(same as parent folder) NS fs1-dns.myzone1.com
(same as parent folder) A 192.168.1.1
ftp CNAME myzone.com
mail A 192.168.1.2
mail MX myzone.com
www CNAME myzone.com

When I perform an nslookup, I receive the following:

nslookup
> set type=MX
> myzone.com.

Server: fs1-dns.myzone1.com
Address: 192.168.1.247

myzone.com
primary name server = fs1-dns.myzone1.com
responsible mail addr = admin
serial = 35
refresh = 900 (15 mins)
retry = 600 (10 mins)
expire = 86400 (1 day)
default TTL = 3600 (1 hour)

No MX records appear.....very strange...

Anything else I should look for....

Sounds like you have a DNS issue.
Now, for clarity, is myzone.com the real one or is it just an example?

The real one returns:
> myzone.com
Server: my server here
Address: my internal IP here

myzone.com MX preference = 30, mail exchanger = myzone.com
myzone.com nameserver = ns1.addresscreation.com
myzone.com nameserver = ns2.addresscreation.com
myzone.com internet address = 216.171.175.55
ns1.addresscreation.com internet address = 216.171.175.40
ns2.addresscreation.com internet address = 216.171.175.41

myzone.com is not a real one.
the zone is tbh.net, however we have it split on the private side and on the public side. The public side is hosted by enom.com. The private side is where we have our zone hosted internally on an W2K server....

This is what I get, if that helps you.

> set type=mx

> tbh.net

Non-authoritative answer:
tbh.net MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.tbh.net
tbh.net MX preference = 50, mail exchanger = mailer.tbh.net

mail.tbh.net internet address = 205.233.199.134
mailer.tbh.net internet address = 205.233.199.134

> enom.com

Non-authoritative answer:
enom.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.enom.com

mail.enom.com internet address = 63.251.174.172
