I think this is a tough one. Possibly not do-able. Just installed a CICS and Call Pilot on a job. This is a tech support office and occasionally they need others in the office to join in the calls. I had told them no problem, I could just program a button for Privacy Off/Ftr 83. BUT I had to program their T7316's w/line pool access and no lines assigned. They have 4 lines, 2 more to be added soon. SO, if there are NO line appearances, I think there is no way to use this feature. This is very important to them and I may have to rip it out if I can't give them this feature. HELP!!!

You misunderstood me. i am not talking about a conference call. i am saying that one person is on a call with an outside party and 2 or 3 others INSIDE the office need to join in on that call. Turning the privacy feature OFF for that particular call/F83, is perfect for that. But i think without line appearances this may not be possible. hope this makes more sense. thanks for your reply.

He understood, since he is aware your out of luck it was another option offered.

What I dont get is why they are Park and Page mode when only 4 lines and a T7316e at that.
They can easily fit line appearance so there should be no issue.

I was thinking the exact same thing, it would be so much easier
to have line appearances and T7208's. However I wouldn't think of questioning your actions....

they have 10 extensions and need to be able to see who's on the phone, so i need those bottom keys that light up for that. today they add two lines which brings them to 6. so i can use the conference feature for internal calls? didn't know that. i'll try it. thanks.

not sure where the park and page comment comes in. please clarify.

too expensive but thanks. i will try the conf feature.

i really don't think you can use the conf feature on an internal call, you guys say you can???

Park and Page is what we call it when you do not assign lines, instead you must Park calls and Page "101" etc.

Conference does work internal but with only 3 parties total so it may not work for you.

i know what park and page are. i was just wondering why you brought that into this thread as i never mentioned them.

exsmogger, you cannot use conference to bring in additional internal parties on a call.

Fairly simple, it was a question as to why they were setup this way, in other words why program against what you were trying to accomplish and that is Privacy Off.....could not understand why you would take away the lines then ask why the line feature does not work.

How ever not relevant anymore since now we know after 3 posts they all want to play receptionist.
In that case I agree with KIM's if the conf idea does not work for you.

I have created a conference many times before internal at home.
In fact I use Voice Call to mix it up too so I can walk back and forth between rooms and still be on a call via handsfree.

all good ideas. thanks guys. i ended up removing a couple of extensions and programming all line appearances. it'll work fine. had to re-do all those @#$% labels.
I'll try that internal conference.
get this one. it's a super quiet office as they are all geeks writing computer programs and doing tech support. you can hear a pin drop in this office. the manager wants to pre-dial,no problem, but he doesn't want to HEAR the keytones you hear when dialing!! he doesn't want to hear the receptionists or anyone else's! i said "pick up the handset and you won't hear it". he said no. he wants to predial. he has continuous problems with his headset. people can't hear him.i said "speak up". he said no. he doesn't want to. and 10 more things i won't go into. be glad to get away from this guy!
