I know this is more of an Outlook question, but you can't support Exchange without supporting Outlook, so here goes.
If I open an attachment from within an e-mail, it launches Word. I can edit and save the document. The edited attachment is still part of the e-mail. And I no longer have the unedited original. And when the email gets deleted due to retension maintenance tasks, of course the attachment goes with it.
I have trained and trained and reminded users to Save As or only Save, not open attachments, but you know users.
So is there a way via GPO, reg hack, etc to prevent the "Open" attachment option, thereby forcing them to do a save?
