plantronics headset with t7316 help

I have nortel t7316's and we purchased a plantronics cs50 with lifter. Installed it as plantronics directed. It works great except for incoming calls, we have to hit the button on the earpeice as well as the headset button on the phone.This is a carlot where salesman are all over the building. I like the wireless but it defeats the purpose of wireless if i have to be by the phone. What i want to happen is when a call comes in the salesperson just hits the button on the earpeice to answer the call. Is this the wrong model of headset for my nortel phones? If so can anyone recommend the right one that will do what i want? Or is it a phone promming change that needs to be done?

A regular headset you plug into the headset port on the 7316. Since this headset you are using requires activation by the handset(via lifter) you must set it up diffently. Take the cord from the HANDSET jack and plug into the cs50 base. Then plug your handset into the other port in the cs50 base. This should do it, Ive set up a bunch of these on t series sets and work great!

Thank you. So i think i understand. We are buying some of the wireless headsets without the base to. They will plug into the headphone jack on the bottom of the phone? So to answer a call...Do i still have to hit the headset button on the phone? Or can i just hit the button on the earpeice of the plantronics cs50

You need the complete cs50 wireless headset system, this will include the base. Then you also need the hl10 lifter. Hook it up as i stated above and you will only press the button on the headset this will activate the lifter and call is answered!
