Phones dropping out to dicovering ip address 1

Any pointers on what can cause phones to drop to discover mode?

may be ip phone ip cannot touch call server ip

double check the gateway is correct.

Are these phones logged in with a station number and working fine and then suddenly drop?

It happens when the phone is logged off and logged on else where, the original phone stays at EXT: etc and then will drop after about 5 mins if no extension/password entered.

gateway is set correctly.

Do you have an LSP..

Found that if the LSp address is entered in the DHCP or settings file as one of the MCIPADD, it will cause this issue.

There is no need to have LSP offered from DHCP or settings file. The phone will discover LSP from alternate gatekeeper list if NR is configured correctly.
