Good Morning

We are discussing ACD
Which phone is used for ACD
Can Digital 1416 Phone be used

Basic differences
SIP vs H.323
Avaya one-X Agent vs Avaya one-X Communicator

Thanks in advance for any additional information

That phone should work fine and you wouldn't have to use a one-x client either. I don't know if SIP phones would be an issue.
One-x agent is designed to be used for ACD operations whereas Communicator is meant for regular users.

I thought ACD used an IP Phone
ACD = IP Phone + one-X Agent
so, is it just a software application?

maybe i am making this too complicated

Just a bit :)

Whether you use One-X or not, the phone needs buttons for ACD login/logout/ready/not-ready/etc. Any phone with those buttons can login.

One-X on top can be used for free to control a real PBX deskphone or with a license to do voip or route audio to a PSTN #
