Phone doesn't answer when handset picked up

Have a site where intermittently a call will ring on a handset, the user will pick up the phone and handset will keep ringing. Only when they press the OK button, the call is answered. Phones are 1616

Any ideas on how to fix?
 
This sounds like a software mismatch.
What software version is the IPO on?
What firmware level do those 1616 have?
Do they have call appearances programmed?

Sure they put the handset back on the hook right?
If not i think the hokswitch is broken.

yeah upgraded the phones to 1.3B and IPO is v7. Call appearances are programmed.

haha yes the phones are being placed on the hook, I dont think its the hookswitch as it is happening to about 10+ phones
 
ringing line preferene/Idle line preference is set imcorrectly for these users

no it is all set to defaults and the problem is intermittant. It doesn't do it every call, it does it randomly 1-5+ times a day
