In our office we have a MICS 6.0 and CP 100.

We use a greeting on one of the mailboxes for the 20 or so techs to call in and receive the next morning's stop.

The techs dial in - hit the extension and listen for their assignments. Works great.

What is the best way to perform the same function but with a password?

Yes, I thought about giving them all mailboxes individually and setting up a group to send all of the mailboxes a message, and the techs would dial in - * * mailbox, etc...... One mailbox would be clumsy due to left over old messages/recordings.

Is there a way, even using CCR, to set up a box that can be changed daily with a changeable password on it too, that's easy to use??

I welcome your ideas. Thanks!

Sounds like a lot of work to me. If you use one mailbox then the techs have to listen to everybody's work for the day. You may think it works great but I would bet they hate it. If you have a mailbox for every tech then you have to record 20 messages every day. Do all your techs have a computer? Have you considered email instead?

yes the yr is 2006 and email/webmail/secure web access is the answer to your problem

Change it from a info MB to a subscriber MB that way there is a password for the mail box.

Try setting up a group list. Assign all mailboxes to the group.

When the person who is leaving the instructions while they are on-site, have them do F980 & enter the group list (ie. 901).

When the person is leaving the instructions off-site, have him dial into the AA, do the ** to access their voicemail.

Have them take the option to send a message. When they are finished recording, have them press # & enter the group list mailbox number.

This will secure the messages.

And, if you had different groups of doctors, you could setup multiple group lists (ie. one for surgeons, one for general practitioners, and one for all).

Hope this helps

Sorry, don't know where I got the doctors from... I must have seen "Doctor Dialtone", and that stuck in my head... ;-)

In this case, if you have different groups of techs, you could use the same approach (ie. PC repair, copier/fax repair, all)

Thanks, all.

I'll stick with the group list to multiple mailbox option.

As I said, Web Access is not practical. These are field techs, some working early (5)AM to late (8) PM, some are working construction or work hours away and Internet Access just isn't practical.

We're not just a "phone company". Some of our work is in hospitals and prisons and construction sites in general.

Yeah I know - wireless - Not happenin'.

Everyone has a cell, but not everyone can get to the net daily, nor do we want to install a huge infrastructure when the "KISS" method has worked up until now.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

if they all have cell phones why not a simple txt message to each with new assignments, (8am city hospital install 1 drop, see mr so and so at 555-555-5555) probably quicker and easier than having them check VM.
