I have a Partner II phone system with Partner Mail VM. When someone leaves a message on my extension (in fact, any one of the extensions in our office), the message light no longer lights up. Suggestions welcome.
 
Partner Mail interfaces through line cords connected to extension ports on 206 modules in the Partner II.

On a 2 or 4 port Partner Mail, only the last port is used for setting the Message Waiting lights. 6 port uses the last 2.

Check for dial tone and proper operation of all the VM ports, but especially that last one.

 
It TTT's suggestions don't work, also check the phone to make sure the message lite hasn't burned out. You can do a lite/ringer test by holding down the # button for at least 5 seconds and then lift the handset. Hang up the handset to end the test.

You can also light the message light manually to test by pressing "feature10" and "feature09" to turn it off again
