outlook express spell check issue

running windows xp, office 97 pro. When using the spell check in outlook express i get an illegal op. Windows and office have been reinstalled. I have also check the knowledge on ms and followed the registry change. still happening.

any idea's?????

When you get the error message, click on Details and post with the first two lines which would help in troubleshooting easily.

What happens if you *don't* make Word your "Default Editor"?

Give that a shot to see what happens.
