When I click on an attachment in OE6 to open it, the attachment opens OK, but I get an error message Cannot find the file "C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content IE5\KwJLG2X3\filename of attachment" I seem to have two folders called Temporary Internet Files - one in C:\Windows and one in C:\Windows\Temp. The missing files are in this second folder. I've tried to cut and paste the folder into C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files, but it won't go. What can I co about this problem?

I will assume you are on Windows 98 since you mentioned your WINDOWS folder.

To start I would check where windows is being directed to store it's CACHE information. You will need to open the registry to do this so please follow the steps below.

1. START - RUN and enter the command REGEDIT
2. Open the key HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
3. Look at the string value called CACHE and see if the value equals "C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files". If not change it to this value.
4. Close the registry

This should be the key that is directing OE and your IE browser where to place the Temporary Internet Files which should include your attachments I believe. joegz
