Hi All,

Got a returned mail this morning with the following blurb:

Final-Recipient: RFC822; data@blah.blah
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Remote-MTA: DNS; mail.blah.blah
Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 554 Too many Received: headers

Does anyone know what the 'headers' comment means and why this would have occurred, please? This should be an automated 'out & auto response' scenario so I want to try and stop this happening again.

TIA.

Neil.

Typically means the receivers mail system is misconfigured. They probably have one mail server forwarding to another which sends it back to the original and gets stuck in a loop. After so many bounces it gets sent back to you with that message. joegz

Thanks for that. As long as it's their system being a pain and not ours! :-D
