If am running office 2003 that interacts with Exchange 2003. On my workstation when I close outlook using the X button on the top corner of the screen it appears to close the application. However, when I try to open Outlook again it hangs. If I go into task manager and end the outlook.exe process then the new instance opens up. I've checked many times and every time I close the outlook app and then go into task manager the process is still running. Has anyone encountered this before. I have created new outlook profiles and have also reinstalled office. Also another issue that I am seeing is that when i send an email it sits in my outbox folder until I click on another folder. Has anyone seen any of the two sitautations in the past? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

I've seen this before with certain Add-Ins for Outlook installed (namely anti-virus to be honest). You might want to try disabling these to see if it makes any difference. To do this.

1. Open Outlook (if you can!).
2. Click on Tools.
3. Click on Options.
4. Click on the Other tab.
5. Click on Advanced Options.
6. Click on Add-In Manager.
7. Untick all of the listed Add-ins then just click OK all the way out.
8. Close Outlook and force the process to close as well.
9. Launch Outlook and see whether you can close / open again.

Hope this helps.

J.
