I have a strange problem with my archiving. I have set up
archiving on my inbox and all subfolders to archive
anything older than 6 months. I have double checked that
each folder has archive settings activated. When I
perform the upgrade my folder structure is recreated,
however not one message is copied, even though I have
mails that are 2 years old. I cannot see any obvious
cause.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Tony

Outlook does not Archive on the received flag, but on the last modified flag. Open up one of the emails that will not archive - File > Properties and check the last modified date - You will probably find this date is less than six months old. The date changes when you move mail to sub- folders or open it, may also change if you upgrade Outlook.

Hope this is of help.

Thank you for your help, unfortunately it seems as though when a brick level backup is performed it changes the modified date of the message. It seems as though there is no workaround!

Thanks anyway

You could try setting up an Inbox rule - taking the advanced options and using the rec'd date to move mail to your archive pst. I have not tried this - but it may work. Worth a try - other wise it will mean manually moving the mail - Unless anyone knows differently!.
