Has anyone experienced the following message within Outlook.

"This form requires Word as your email editor, but word is either busy or cannot be found. The form will be opened in the Outlook editor instead."

BACKGROUND: Operating on Windows XP Professional, Using Office XP, SBS Exchange Server is being used as the mail server, Outlook has stationary and signatures setup.

When launching Outlook if you go into the Task Management area you can see winword operating. If you turn Word as Email editor off, you cannot use stationary.

I have tried:
- Deleting any other versions of office in the registry key (ie. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Office\8.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Office\9.0
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Microsoft\Office\8.0
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Microsoft\Office\9.0)
as suggested in Microsofts Knowledge Base Article 284900.

- uninstalling Office, running Microsoft WIndows Installer Clean Up, then reinstalling

After ringing microsoft and them running through the exact same options, they suggested deleting the profile which didn't work. I am at a blank and would be interested to know if anyway has any solutions.

Thanks

We're running NT 4.0 Terminal Services with sp6; Office 97, and Outlook 2000 with SR-1 only (issues with our custom telephone messaging system if we use any higher SR) so this may not apply.

Have you recently uninstalled or installed any non-Microsoft software?

We had the exact same problem occur last week after an uninstall of another software program (Computer Associate's AccPac for Windows).

We reinstalled Office 97 over top of the existing Suite and then uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2000. That resolved the problem for us.

Cheers.
