I am running Windows 2k Pro with SP1 and MS Office Xp. I have my hotmail accounts setup in Hotmail and they keep telling me that they can't either connect or they are timing out. Now when I go to Hotmail itself and login manually it works fine. When I had it setup in outlook express it worked fine. So whats the deal? Is there something I am missing? Why won't it connect, and the odd thing is that sometimes it goes fine after its been running a while and others it takes the folders offline and I can't get them to go back online. Is there a setting or a workaround to get these to work properly? The version of Outlook is 2002 and I don't see too many posts about this version. Please advise. Thanks in advance. -Dan

I am *pretty* sure hotmail doesn't allow access from Outlook anymore.

Howdy:

Sorry Ben, but you are "pretty" wrong !!

Dan - Go to the following urls in the MKB.. They will show you how to configure Outlook so you can get Hotmail as well as the fixes for the problems you are having..

Ok, I was looking around, and found out that I was wrong, but you didn't have to be so mean about it. I was, however, partly right, because Hotmail cannot be accesed from another mail client. Either that, or you will have to pay for POP access.

Ben:

Not trying to be mean, BUT my post made you look and check didn't it !! rather than just posting what you thought, you actually looked to make sure which is what you should do.. and, he wasn't asking about another email client, he was asking about OutlookXP..
