on outgoing calls our BT main number is being displayed to the called party. We want to display the full number including extn number. we only have 1 outgoing trunk group how do I check that it is set-up to do this.
Or sometimes your service provider (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) will tack on the main phone number. This way no matter what you send, they always override you info.
if the circuit was ordered with CPE enabled, this allows the PBX public unknown to send out whatever digits you want. without it, the circuit vendor will display the BTN (bill to number).
If you have the ability to do a list trace on a station, do that and make an outbound call, then you can see what digits your switch is outpulsing. If you're sending the station ext, then the LEC is over riding that information with the BT. If you're sending out the BT yourself, then look at the information listed above on how to set it up correctly.
