Hi!

I'm setting up an avaya IP office 500 and I got one problem.
When we are calling out. The caller ID on the phone we are calling is showing our nummber but with one more zero at the start. So people can't call right back. They have to edit the number and remove the first zero.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

Thank you!

Are you sending the caller ID via ARS on SIP, BRI or PRI trunk or is the line provider adding the caller ID?

If you send it then adjust if your line provider sending it then have them fix it.

you are sending the extension number, so if your extensions start with 0.... then that is what you are sending on caller ID

IPDect phones or other phones?
IPDect R4 has an option to add a prefix too and it causes these issues too.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

If you have ISDN you don't have to run it by an ARS or use the 0 for dial tone, unless you have a reason for that.

Here is an example (Gbg number)

? / Dial / .S031789E / 0

031789 = the leading numbers of the DDI
E = Extension (3 or 4 numbers normally)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hi we are using SIP. I tested your settings Gunnar and still have one digit to much at the beginning of the number. I have also tried to set short code 0N without any success..

What's your SIP provider? Telia, Tele2, Weblink?

Kind regards

Gunnar

In Sweden??? Didn't know they started selling SE trunks. (Or are you connecting to a Norwegian trunk?)

Kind regards

Check in your SIP trunk settings if you can find the setting in the PAI with an additional 0 in it

Here is the Appliance test docs for Telenor
(there is one error in it, the port number should be 5060.)

Your URI shoul look similar to this:
znl08p80yvihc0afg.jpg

User: SIP> SIP Name, SIP Display, Contact. Try setting either 0317891234 or +46317891234 (could also try skipping the leading zero)

ARS: N; / Dial / N"@<IP ADDR>"/ Line number

Kind regards

Gunnar

Okay. I cant find that URI?. When i go to Line we only got PRI Line no SIP URI.

It looks like this.
download.aspx

I have also done a short code 0M / Dial / Ns092272E / 0.

But still a 0 too much on the caller ID when I'm calling my mobile phone.
Feels like I have tested all solutions. I have also called Telenor and they say it is something on our side.

Just do a monitor trace, that will show exactly what you're actually sending out. If you're sending what you should be then print it off, roll it up and slap them across the face with it :)

If that picture you uploaded is from the system in question, you have an ISDN30 (PRI, not SIP)

Kind regards

Yes it is our system on the picture. Okay sorry for wrong information :).

maybe try taking the 0 from the dial action shortcode....we had this problem the other day the line was sending out the same number twice so essentially wasn't routing anywhere. i took the 0 from the dial '?' short code and seemed to be fine?

Starting out in the Telecoms world...Tricky stuff!

Ok, try putting this on a User Short Code

? / Dial / .S9227E / 0

(Removed the leading zero.)

I use it for Telenor PRI's, works every time

Kind regards

Gunnar
