When making calls out of our G3R the caller ID on the phone display out operator's number (572-1110) regardless of which extension is making the call. Is anyone aware of how to allow the users extension to be the caller ID? All our trunks are PRI and we are set-up for DID.

-Thanks

On your Trunk Page you will see options that ask send caller name. send caller nummer. Make Y if you wish to send. I have found system will send Trunk ID if station is an Extension, but you said you had DID so not a big thing.

If the Phoneman2's post doesnt solve your problem, check your isdn public numbering.

Do a "ch isdn pub" make sure the fields are blank. More than likely if there is anything there it will be:

ISDN NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT
Total
Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len

4 1 1 XXX5721110 10

Ext Len is the length of your extentions...4 or 5 digits
Ext code is the starting number in the extension, 1+110=1110
Trk grp is the Trunk Group it goes over...leave blank if you have multiple outgoing trunks.
CPN Prefix is the your main number of your attendant. The XXX is your area code which I just substitued because I didn't know it.
Total CPN Length is the length of digits you want to send...can be anything at or above the Ext Len.

If anything is in the CPN Prefix field, delete it. This will allow your DID's to show up.

When I changed send name and send number to yes the caller ID displays unavailable...and all fields in the ISDN Numbering are cleared, absolutly nothing. Any other ideas?

_Thanks

Talk to you LEC or service provider and ask what they are sending. Ask them not to send your main number and that you will be sending the Caller ID info.

ISDN NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT

Total
Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix

4 65 480555 10
4 66 480555 10
4 67 480555 10
4 3107 480555 10
4 8245 480555 10

Under the CPN prefix I have area code and prefix typed in for all DID ranges.

Under EXT Code is the first two digits of DIDs

EXT lenth is 4 65XX

I know they said you don't need it But mine seems to work fine with them. You never know until you try.

Workd perfect when I added the digits to the ISDN Numbering....thanks Phoneman!!!

While ISDN Public/Unknown is great for choosing what number you wish to have each DID outpulse, the most likely problem is with your stations. Check the 2nd page of your station forms. Look for: Per Station CPN - Send Calling Number, if this is "n" on all your stations then it doesn't matter what you do in ISDN Public/Unknown, you will still outpulse the BTN. Change to blank and you are all good. My Business Partner set just a few of mine to "n". It drove me crazy trying to figure out why just those few stations outpulsed the BTN. Maybe you have them all set this way. Good Luck.

Now another problem:

All stations are sending the caller number great...but our EC500 stations display unavailable on the cell phones when their station is called...any ideas?

Are they DIDs or Extensions?

If you have check all of the option, everyone has posted.. chances are that your trunk was setup as NI-1 format. That will only send the BTN of the ckt. Ask the LEC if they support the NI2 format and make the changes that Phoneman and NX01 have posted ( NX01 changes would apply to caller Id that you would want to control like, if you use outcalling on your audix you can mask the extension number with a Toll free number or some other number your users would find helpful )

I've found that this thread has been very informative on turning on our Outbound Caller ID. However, I've run into a couple of problems. First, I'd like to identify our (12 ports) Audix Outcalling extensions with identical caller id information. Secondly, I have two other sites linked to us via DCS with all of their voice traffic routing back to us and out our main site. I've been unable to have the extension at the remote sites display caller id on outbound calls.

We are running a G3R9.5

Here is what I've done.

On both sides, I've enabled the CPN station option

On the main site - I've have set
Ext Ext Trk CPN Total CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len
4 26 318641 10

On the remote site -
Ext Ext Trk CPN Total CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len
4 55 318641 10

Try this

On the main site - I've have set
Ext Ext Trk CPN Total CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len
4 26 318641 10
4 55 318641 10

On the remote site -
Ext Ext Trk CPN Total CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len
4 55 4

Also make sure the trunk between the sites on page two sends the number.

In the future everything will work...
