Hey Guys,

I just upgraded a system from 9.0.1 to 9.0.3. Since the upgrade, users are unable to utilize the "Desktop Notifications" feature. In their "Configure" page of One-X, it is now completely greyed out and will not allow them to make any adjustments to it. I have searched through the knowledge base and have not been able to find anything regarding any types of changes to this feature in this release.....has anyone else come across this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you upgrade the call assistant software too?
Each version has it's own call assistant version.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

This is not a feature which works with Call Assistant. This is the feature which allows us recieve pop up notifications when IMs are recieved.

You mean the google Chrome pop up option ?(or was it firefox?)

Yes. It works with Chrome, Firefox and IE however when trying to enable it within One-X portal, it does not allow us to as it is all greyed out.

Then i don't know as i don't use it.
I have in the beginning but i don't use it normally.

Doh. Well thanks for the effort. It may be something that i need to bring to a next tier as it just does not work even though I am using the support browsers

Did you get anywhere with this? Mine is greyed out too and I'm constantly bombarded with people complaining that they miss IM's!

Do Avaya have no shame??

If you access OXP in firefox, the notifications tab advises you to install "tab notifier" add-on, which does enable notifications if using firefox in browser. If using call assistant the notifications tick box is greyed out and warns of browser incompatibility despite firefox being the default browser!

If you access one-x portal from chrome or IE then the notifications tab just complains of browser incompatibility, saying only firefox, internet explorer or chrome supported!! SURELY they can enable IM notification within their own bit of software??

Unfortunately I had gotten nowhere with Chrome however Firefox worked fine once the add on was installed. I contacted Jenne who then contacted Avaya and I got absolutely zero assistance. I was pretty much forced to have 50 users change their web browser.....

Shocking...

I take it none of them use Call Assistant then as notifications don't seem to work at all in that??

.....and what about IM in outlook plugin??? How did any of it get past testing phase (if that stage even existed...)

There are some users who use Call Assistant without any issues. You need to make sure that they upgrade their Call Assistant if you had just recently updated them to 9.0.3. Frankly, I avoid One-X at all costs because it is a joke and is just nothing but a ton of small headaches. My hatred towards Avaya grows and grows every day.....

OXP is not to be relied on, you may wish to look at UC Plus software. It covers pretty much what OXP does but does it better and has some added features that OXP cannot do, take a look :-)

I have checked that out, just on the surface. Do you use it often?

I haven't used it for long, Sean (Hairlessupportmonkey) has used it quite a bit I think :-)

Do you know if they get desktop notifications for IM in Call Assistant without the window being maximised? At the moment thats the only hurdle we're trying to get over and wondering if I'm missing a setting somewhere...

Since it appears to be a European product, do you get some solid support in the US?

Call Assistant does not provide anything regarding IMs unfortunately. The only pop up option for IMs is the "Desktop Notification" option or at least that is all that I am aware of.
