How do you go about finding out the far end of a off-pbx-ext? I see the ext in the switch as a 2500 type and the off Premise Station field is flagged to y.

Besides the above question how do these ext. typically work ?

It is simply an off premise analog extension. Feature functionality is identical to an on premise analog extension. The system does gives some extra options for impedance matching stuff (R Balance Network). The analog port is connected to a carrier for the carrier to send to another location where an analog phone is plugged into it.

If I had to blindly call the carrier whom I know and referenced this specific number would they be able to find the info from that or is there some type of circuit number that I'd need becasue this was implemented a long time ago and nobody has any record other than who the carrier is.

Thanks for the info.

I was able to find it. For anyone intersted the port assigned to the off premise extension is cross connected to an rj21x which then gets handed off to the carrier and terminates at the far end.
