Hello All,
I have been trying to solve an issue for 5 months now. I am nearly out of time and I am at a dead end. Any help that anyone can offer me would be greatly appreciated.
I have 10 NTSC tapes that I need to import into Premiere, export in a general format and then copy to a PAL camera.
My first and biggest stumbling block is that when I import the footage from the NTSC camera I get jerky lines around any object in motion in the frame. I understand that this should be a product of my settings, but I have tried every combination of setting I can. Although I have made a large improvement, I am still no-where near the quality I should be getting or desire.
The reason for me needing to convert these tapes is that I need to send the NTSC camera back overseas (in 3 weeks) and once it has gone I will lose access to all this footage. I need to store the footage to be worked on at a later date. I have looked into getting it professionally converted, but the quote has been $80/hr, which is too steep and seems to be a bit of a con. I think though that with this software I should be able to do it.
My questions are this :
1. Is this the best/only way to convert NTSC to PAL reliably and with good results?
2. If it is then is there a process to work out what the settings are that I am meant to be using?
3. If anyone uses a Canon Ultura (NTSC), can you please forward me the settings you use to capture footage, and let me know if you have any problems.
4. Is what I am trying to do achievable? Should I be able to get perfect picture quality from this camera and this program?
Thankyou in advance for saving me.
