Is a Norstar plus version mics 2.0 compatible with a star talk flash 2.0

Hi wheeliesrcool,
In a word, Yes.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than to have a frontal lobotomy

Thanks for the help. I got into the StarTalk Flash and when I <feature 983>, select AA it tells me "NOT ALLOWED?" MBOX and OTHR work fine. Does this flash not support AA or am I missing something?

I'm sorry, let me revise that statement. When I <feature 983>, select AA, OTHR or CCR I get "NOT ALLOWED." I suppose I need to purchase these features? Or are they not active and I need to activate them? I am only able to access MBOX and GLIST. Thanks for the help once again.

Usually the only time I've seen that message is if your trying to program from an M7208. Try programming from an M7310 and see if that doesn't allow you in.

I think you have the flash light version of flash 2.0, this is a mailbox only system with 12 mailboxes and no vm.

sounds like you may have flash voice mail light, which means no AA, and no CCR. VM light is mailboxes only. I don’t know if it is upgradeable or not, as I never worked with VM lights.

You may need to change out the whole thing to a new box, as they are discontinued. Or someone here may know if they can be upgraded.

the upgrade for that is to change out the software from light to standard vm. the cost of software alone is almost as much as a flash with software.

I have had a similar problem, how would you tell if the version is a flash light version?

I believe those units had the word light printed right on the label but I'm not positive. If not you can get the version number from the unit and post it here and I'll see if I can't find the matrix to tell whether it's a flash v/m light.

I believe the flash card should have "VML" on it for Voice Mail Light version.

If you login/feature 983 and hit 44, you will find out if it is a VM or VML. If its a VML, you can have the distributor/NORTEL generate a new keycode, knowing the FLASH serial number, to make it a VM, as long as you also have the correct software cartridge.

Morgansdad,
That info on the dist is good to know, My dist would only talk about replacing with a VM or A CP.
