Norstar Upgrade 3

We are thinking of upgrading our Norstar system to the latest software available.

What is the latest software available for the Norstar?

We are currently running rls 4.0. Would we have to purchase two seperate upgrades (to get from say 4.0 to 6.0 and then upgrade from 6.0 to the latest)or can we perform just one upgrade?

firstly why are you upgrading? is it for problems or new features?

depending on the hardware(NVRAM) you've got and the amount of reprogramming required

NVRAM2 - good, NVRAM1 - has to be changed before the upgrade

4.0 to 6.1
6.1 to 7.0
<saves some programming>

4.0 -> erase everything -> 7.0 reprogram afresh

Thanks for the great reply. Shorthand worked perfectly.

We are just wanting to get the system to the latest Nortel supported software release for the longevity of the system. The system has worked perfect and we hope to keep it for many years to come. If we go I think we will go the 2 upgrade route and try and maintain the programming as is.

Is 4.0 still supported by Nortel? If not what is the oldest software rls still supported by Nortel?
