What is best setup for 2 MICS one is 7.0 xc with T-1 2nd system will be 7.0 .they have one NAM 4.0 to link together

You'll have trouble with the R4.0 NAM. You need R4.1 to work with a MICS R7. The only way to integrate one voicemail with 2 systems is to purchase MCDN keycodes which are no longer available for the NAM.

How big is your site? A MICS with R7 XC can grow quite large. You'll save a lot of trouble if you can use just one KSU and one voicemail.

To answer your question about E&M, yes you can but like exsmogger stated the only way to use 1 voice mail is by using PRI with the MCDN codes. Also with just E&M your not going to get any CLID information from 1 system to the other.

and the real kicker is a cp 150 wont be able to handle the call volume a system that large will generate.Need a 12 to 16 channel vm

Additionally, linking 2 MICS together with E&M will not provide calling station ID between the 2 systems.

If you have ext 2000, 2014, and 2025 on 1 MICS, and 3000, 3010, and 3020 on the second, calling from 2000 to 2014 will show the calling party. Calling from 2000 to 3000 will not. Likewise, calling from 3000 to 3010 will show the calling party, but from 3000 to 2014 will not

So if one wanted to maintain the Calling station ID between two systems, the only way is with a PRI and MCDN codes? Hmmh.

Right now we have two buildings, a ptp T1 via microwave between them configured as E&M. The config one the one MICS got messed up and had to be redone. I can make calls from Site A to Site B no problems, I cant make calls from B to A.

I triple checked the routing, power cycled the Nortel, and no change. I even assigned an access code to the lines on the T1 card. When dialing that access code, I get the dial-tone...then when dialing the extension, nothing. Doing the same thing on Site A, completes the call to Site B.

Any suggestions what to look at next?

T1 trunks on both sites are set to auto answer.
Signaling is wink-start.
TrunkType E&M.
No Prim Set for the lines (001-024) both sites.
My route (002) is set to use the POOL B which all lines are in. (same for each site)
Setup access code 44 for POOL B. Dialing 44, then the extension, results in nothing.

wow so many varibles it appears setting up DID to target lines and matching extension digits with last four DID makes more sense.Can the NAM 4.0 be upgraded to 4.1

Yes, Dial mode is tone on the EM trunks on both sides.
Answer mode DISA is no.

I didnt think a straight T1 had target lines, only a PRI.

Geesah, IIRC yes, you can upgrade to 4.1

If your not using any target lines how do you get from t1 to ext u dial...only if using AA on vm will you be able to dial ext with out target line
