Lucent 5e providing circuit, carrier advices card replacement. Customer does not want pri or caller id.

Don't presume that Telco has done sufficient testing, regardless of what they say. Most inititial 'testing' from them is done by a person who used to work at McDonalds and is now an expert. They have a program on their computer that 'tests' cable integrity, but only shows shorts or severly degraded cable pairs. I have seen one legitimate DTI card go bad in 15 years.....those are pretty robust. You need to find out (via test eq) if you are getting a clean signal all the way through the smart jack from Telco. Since Telco has up to 15x the equipment to go bad than you do (not to mention potentially miles of old underground cable that may be bad/wet), I would be more suspicious of them first. DTI cards are not cheap and it very well may have zero effect on the problem.

Tell them you replaced the card and the problem is still occurring. Since you have 2 DTI's you could just roll the cards and then see what happens. As gforce9 wrote, DTI cards rarely go bad. I've only seen a couple since the MICS first came out.

Thanks for the info. I had the tech come out from the carrier and he used my own t-berd tester as well as his and all looks good on there end. the cards are cheap 500 dollars each . looks like i dont have a choice

Just an FYI customer is on their third carrier in the last 5 years and the same disconnects have been happening during that time. ALL CARRIERS POINT THE FINGER AT THE NORSTAR and me!!
