Norstar NAM 4.0 Conversion to DVC

Hi, i have a NAM II Version 2.30 with 3 DVC Cards.

I bought a 4.0 Nam used on ebay, but it has only a DS30 Card, i putted in it one DVC card form my NAMII, and i also changed settings in Config.sys to load the DVC driver, and also make few change in config file like ACCESS.INI, well at last the card is correctly initialised, the NAM 4.0 make a melody to tell KSU and NAM is ready and Sync, i can go on phones i see text form NAM, all is working NORMALY EXCEPT ONE THING. I can't hear the prompts voice, it's uncomprehensive French and English... i can't lisent Prompts but i can hear the Tone to Record, and i can record my name in a mailbox and lisent it after correctly.. it's like if the voice promtps of the system was corrupted or have a Codec for only the DS30.. i dunno.

I'm waiting about your suggestions.

Maybe the hard drive or software is corrupt.
Renaming or deleting some of the files in OS warp might help but finding them is the key.

Nortel makes different language versions for the auto attendant, some are spanish, french, german and even european english which says to "press hash" refering to the pound key. It's happened to me a couple of times, customers bought the CP's and NAMS used.
Thats probably why they were aable to get them so cheep.

The System Came Form Canada, there is 2 Languages installed English and French, Both are uncomprehensive....

I'm thinking this is a driver problem. I've gone from DVC to fiber on an App Mod II, but I've never gotten it to work correctly going from fiber to DVC.

Saw your youtube video- usualy if the audio is garbled or severe static, the NAM's hard drive("auto attendant" segment) has gone south. DVC should work with 4.0 - check the revision/release date on your DS30.

So if i understand correctly.. When a Nam go to Fiber or Was Programed with, the voices promtps Audio format change to be lisent only on a DS30 ? If yes there is nothing to do with that except to buy the "DS30 Station Port Adapter" and forgot the DVC Card? Or it's only an emulation wich can be canceled in a configuration file ?

You could use the fiber converter, but I'd think it would be easier to just buy a 2-port or 6-port fiber expansion card and connect the NAM with a fiber cable.

6-port fiber expansion card exist for an Compact ICS ? I have also the Software "NA-CICS-DR 2.0 STANDARD VER 10.7

I thought you had a MICS. I've seen a fiber card for the CICS, but it's pretty rare.

No, i know usualy a Compact ICS have a StarTalk Flash, I got a free NAM II from a company that was switching to VoIP.

I found the way to fix it !

I took the language pack in my NAM 2.30 and i puted it in my 4.0

So i copied "C:\ACCESS2\FILEPOOL\*.*" and sub dir to my nam 4.0

Now it's working A1. But i lost the voice prompt for the Users Directory i suppose it's not same as the 2.30, but it's not too bad.

exsmogger, you have seen a fiber card for a CICS before? Man if that's real that's new to me. Must be some UK stuff.

Yep, it was about 5 years ago. I don't think it was UK issue, but I couldn't swear to it.

Yeah Curlycord, it should be cool to find them, but there is totaly nothing on the web about it No ISO CD or HDD Ghost, event not to buy. I was looking first to buy an upgrade for my 2.30, but it was more simple to buy a NAM 4.0 on ebay for 40$.

My system is configured with English and French Language, French is the most used because i'm in Québec.

That fiber card NTBB04GF if I recall was in fact for the NAM on a CICS.

I also think a fiber station mod could be added to the CICS with the use of the fiber card. The fiber expansion card I saw had one fiber port.
