Can anyone offer any advice?
I am trying to allow network clients to access the net via a windows 2000 server. I have set up the DNS, RRAS using NAT.
First, I fixed the ip address's of the servers NIC's, the clients are also fixed. Then I set up RRAS, next I deleted "." from DNS and enabled forwarders
The server and the clients can all ping and tracert ok, using both ip address and name so DNS looks ok. When I try to browse the net, Internet Explorer displays "connecting to" and the ip address of the external connection nic and after about 20 seconds returns the server can not be found error. This also occurs when tring to browse on the server
Both NIC's have fixed ip, with only the external connection having a gateway entered. The clients have the server name and port (80 and 8080, tried both) entered in explorer.
Hope information is ok
