I have a client that has a SB Live! (model CT4780) in his Dell desktop (running XP Pro) but cannot get any sound output no matter what source I try, whether it's playing mpg files from the HD, CDs in the CD-ROM, etc.
In my troubleshooting I've checked:
1) mixer settings are correct
2) used headphones to check outputs on back of the card
3) ran the audio wizard and saw that I did get input signal to the card (via a microphone) and saw that it was attempting to output that sound
4) there is no IRQ channel problems
5) verified via Device Manager that there aren't any problems
Additionally, I've already uninstalled the drivers, removed the card, and reinstalled - again this did not resolve the issue.
Any suggestions?
All great accomplishments were once considered impossible.
