Hi All

I have a curious problem with mapping network drives.

I'm in an environment where I have two domains on the same subnet. The reason for this is a domain migration. I have full admin rights for both domains.

On occasions I may be on one domain and need to map a network drive located on the other domain. Of course to do this I have to map it using the admin username\password of the domain being mapped to.

9 times out of 10 this works fine but I get the odd time where I recieve the following message

"The network folder you specified is currently mapped using a different username or password". On clicking OK I get "The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error occured: The credentials supplied conflic with an existing set of credentials"

On checking, there are no other instances of this drive being mapped or any conflicts.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

FABULOUS! Thankyou bcastner. Using the IP address was the solution.

You obviously have a wealth of knowledge at your disposal as I notice that most of you answers on this board are spot on. Thanks for your reply.
