Hi
I am unable to get my Notification Icon for my network connection to display in the tray near my clock. I have ticked the box in network properties to display this icon but it still doesn't work. Can some one assist me in this matter?

Consider your recovery actions as a leap forward in the fight against XP. It is interesting that you mention "autoexec.nt and config.nt" the significance of their part in your problem is beyond me but worth noting.

Replacing files in System32/Config to recover is a well known procedure and is covered in articles like these -

An easy to follow recovery console description when unable to start computer due to corrupt registry.

How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting

Anyway it's always nice when you have a victory over XP, so well done. Mind you I feel there are more adventures yet to come.

Thanks linney, I feel you are most certainly right for sure :)
