This may be redundant info. I purchaed this for a corporation to try it; it is SafeNet's VPN client with a logo for Netgear. All you are buying is a .bin (for policies) and the PDF that is available online. Do NOT buy this software. Use Safenet if you are a "student". Email me with any questions, thoughts, possibilities ;) :

This is my opinion.

I'm a little confused on what you mean by "All you get is the bin file." Are you saying all they send you is the spd file?

If they are selling Safenet Remote but with their logo, there's nothing wrong with that. Netscreen does the same thing and if your using it for commerical purposes, you need to pay for it.

BTW, did you know that both the Netgear FVS318 and FVM318 can NOT access anything on the WAN side that has a IP that ends in 255? Try pinging f4.grp.yahoofs.com, which resolves to 66.218.66.255 or going to Dunkin Donuts website at (164.109.80.255).

Netgear needs to fix this quick as I need my daily fix of Donuts! ;)

Sorry CJ-

Yes and no. They send you SafeNet10 (which is free to students thru various outlets)and the .spd file. I confused bin with all the router config files that went thru my brain today. I agree, you should pay for Safenet, I don't agree with Netgear's not making the Fee Based Support abundantly clear on the presales side. I am just glad that a company paid for me to find out.

Clear as mud is me.
