Does anyone know what the data format is, from the switch to the CMS system?
Or does anyone know of a good replacement option for the CMS system?
Just need to look at all options.

Thanks
David

The CMS system has an interactive 2-way connection with the switch.
It is not just outputing data as the CDR port does for example.
The format is (B)X25 messages, over serial link, until V8 CMS, after you can also put it on the Ethernet port.
So there really is no alternative to the CMS system, unless you would build the data from a CTI integration, but even then.
Here you can find everything about CMS and the descriptions of its links, and data layout:

David,
You may find that utilising a different reporting package may be more what you are looking for (something like crystal) to sit over the top of CMS. I had quite a few problems with getting to grips with the report designer (namely a lack of good quality info about what you can and can't do!!) However, without investing heavily in your CTI there aren't really any options for using different collection software.

If you are in the UK, I know ROYALBLUE have an interface into Definty which apparently has similar outcome to CMS. Not sure of the costs though!

As PD Hall said you can use another tool to run reports. You can put SQL hooks into the CMS data & generate reports from that.

Is there a way to get real time date from these. I have added the ODBC driver, but am not able to get real time date.

David,
The ODBC driver only exports historical archive data so no you cant get "Real-Time" reports however you could look at the scheduling option. I use the scripts functionality to export data as and when required (currently every 15mins, but you go down as far as 15 secs I believe - picked up a handy hint on this here site!!!) and then put your reporting layer into the DRS that you are exporting to. Let me know your brief and desired outcomes and I'll see what we can suggest.

Regards,
Phil
