We are a large facility and have just tossed out our wiring folks after 15 years of service. Anyone know any good referals that I can call in the area. we are located in Winfield, IL. This would be a huge contract.

I would post this in the wiring forum. I would bet you could get some people that could help you. I would recommend that you look for someone that is BICSI certified if this is for your network cabling.

Thanks, Mike. I will post it there too. However we do need Avaya certifed techs as we have many affliate centers with Avaya switches.

So you are needing a phone tech to do your admin, cross connects, installations and wiring then? Or you are looking someone to pull and terminate Cat5/telephone cables?

A combination of both. We have several quotes coming but with no referrals.

I have worked with techs from Rex Electric in the Northwest burbs area, and can heartily recommend them. Their Class-C (low-voltage) guys are great. I wasn't in charge of them, but I had to work behind them as the voice tech, and there was never any problem. They would always check with me before pulling cables, and would ask me how I wanted the new drops numbered.

If this recomendation is a violation of the Tek-Tips policy, I apologize.

Try looking at ACS. They are all over. We use them to do all of our cable runs, x connects and they do a great job.
