Hello,
First of all my daughter loaded new software for Epson 1280 Printer and Power Driver IQ Sawgrass Techinologies, without having the printer connected. That is when this problem occured. I have Windows XP and I just purchased the PC Bug Doctor Sunday tonight and I ran the scan, but it still did NOT fix the error. What happens is: When you turn the computer on and click on the owner name it will not boot up it goes to a blue screen error. The message of the error is: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and then below that it will say STOP: 0x00000000A and then some more hex numbers. I have to start the computer in safe mode then go into System Configuration Utility then go to Services and uncheck the Print Spooler box then restart the computer and it will boot up, but you can't use the printer and etc. It will not boot up in Normal Startup & when the Print Spooler box is checked. Please contact me as soon as possible

*The following message below is the horrible BLUE SCREEN that I keep getting, I have copied it word for word so you might be able to help me. Please read below.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000A (ox0000002C, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804EC58A)

I have rebooted in safe mode and it won't let me go back to the last good configuration setting. I do not want to do anything that would wipe out my hard drive.

My problems is: I used F8 key and was in safe mode, when I try to go back to choose last known good configuration and boot into windows it will only let me go back 1 Day. That is not a good configuration, the other days are blocked and will not let click on them.

I don't have a Windows CD that came with our HP Pavilion F50 with Windows XP, they said that it was all stored on the hard drive. I downloaded Windows Resource Kit Tools and clicked on cleanspl.exe to clean the spooler, but it will pop up a box and say the RPC server is unavailable. It will not boot up in Normal Startup, It will boot up on Selective Startup & then go to the Services tab and go to Print Spooler and uncheck the box.

In Safe Mode: Start, Run, services.msc
Go down to the print spooler entry and double click it to expand it.
Set its Startup state to Disabled.
Now reboot and use Normal mode.
Run cleanspl.exe

Attention bcastner:
I did as you instructed went into Safe Mode: Start, Run, services.msc
Go down to the print spooler entry and double click it to expand it. Set its Startup state to Disabled.
Now reboot and use Normal mode. Run cleanspl.exe

I am now at the Clean Spooler window to restore the spooler to it's original state. It says Computer Name -------- what do I type in that space?

Also do I leave the box Checked that says: Save spooler Registry to FIle or UNCHECK it?

When I try to type anything in the box beside the Computer name a box pops up and says: Unable to open the service manager on the computer '\\owner'. The RPC server is unavailable.

Now System Configuration box poped up, what do I do from here.

Thank You..

Computer name can be left blank to indicate the local machine.

It does not matter if you save the registry entries or not.

bcastner,
I left the Computer name blank and left the box checked to save the registry entries. Now a box popped up:

Do you want to delete the 'BJ Language Monitor' print monitor? YES or NO

bcastner,
I left the Computer name blank and left the box checked to save the registry entries. Now a box popped up:

Do you want to delete the 'BJ Language Monitor' print monitor? YES or NO

I went ahead and clicked NO on deleteing 'BJ Language Monitor' print monitor?

Now it wants to know if I want to delete 'Epson Printer Port' printer monitor? YES OR NO

I don't want to check something I don't suppose too and wipe out everything. Whats next?

bcastner,

I clicked NO to all the delete options to the following:
'BJ Language Monitor' print Monitor
'Epson Printer Port' printer Monitor
'Epson V5 2K Monitor Printer
HP 000108 Print Monitor
Microsoft Shared Fax Monitor
Sawgrass 1280 Monitor V1.0
Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor
USB Monitor

After checking NO do not delete the above items a window popped up saying:

Unable to start print spooler services on this computer. The services cannot be started because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

I am back to where I started "The Spooler Window" What's next ???

Answer No to the default print monitors:

• AppleTalk Printing Devices (When Services for Macintosh is installed)
• BJ Language Monitor
• Local Port
• PJL Language Monitor
• Standard TCP/IP Port
• USB Monitor
• Windows NT Fax Monitor (When a Fax Modem is installed)

You can delete all the others.
For example:
HP 000108 Print Monitor
Delete it.

This note by Bruce Sanderson, MS-MVP, Printing, may give you an idea of what is going on, and some advice about using cleanspl.exe:
