NDS Error 672

I am trying to install a NW 6 server into an existing NDS tree. After I log into the tree and assign an IP address to the new server, I get the message that it is "installing edirectory". Then before it finishes installing, I get the following message: "Edirectory has failed to install - Error Code -672". This is the only server at this site in this tree. Could someone explain this error and a way to resolve it. Thanks.

First, what version of eDirectory are you running throughout your network? The 672 error sounds like NDS isn't healthy. Make sure time is in sync (time synchronization) and replication (report sychronization status) is healthy.

You probably need to check DSREPAIR and look for errors in "REPORT SYNCHRONIZATION STATUS". Resolve any errors there before proceeding.

Thanks for all the replys. I was able to get edirectory installed. I believe the problem is that I was trying to install the new server into a container in which I did not have the proper rights to.
