Hi guys

I have a strange issue at a site running a 3300 MXE on MCD 5 SP2. None of the MWI lights go on when there is a voicemail in a extension's mailbox. I just took over the site and at first noticed that the first and last voicemail port was not in the voicemail hunt group. I then fixed that and rebooted the controller. I checked the class of service of the voicemail and extensions and they are correct as far as I can see.

I then copied the diag.dat file and noticed the following:

WARNING 8316-03 MWI FAC(on) not configured
WARNING 8316-03 MWI FAC(off) not configured

I can confirm that there are digits in the FAC to enable, disable and inquire. I have even tested with different FAC codes to see if there is not a clash of digits. The FAC codes work when you manually enter them.

Any ideas?

There is a COS to allow the MW lights to be activated I believe.

From the help files:-
Message Waiting - Disable Ringing Lamp Notification

Select "Yes" to prevent the Ring/Message Waiting indicator lamp that is located at the top of the set from flashing when a user has a message. Instead, the indicator lamp beside the Message key flashes to indicate the presence of messages.

This option only applies to the following sets:

5212, 5235, 5224, 5312, 5324, 5320/5320e, 5330/5330e, 5340/5340e, and 5360 IP Phones

5560 IPT

Navigator

If you change this option, be sure to inform users of the Message Waiting notification method in use.

Change the FAC to something else and back again.

Try putting a regular phone with VM COS in the hunt group and dial the code

Then call Mitel if it still fails. Never seen this before.
