I have a question regarding "laws" that govern multiple appearance extensions when both users have 2616 sets.

Say for instance that Susan at the console calls Nancy (X3517). Diane (X4618), who screens Nancy's calls, sees/hears the incoming call and picks up using button 9. Diane realizes that the call is important and wants to pass the call on to Nancy - does she have to transfer the call, or can Nancy pick up the call on her own telephone somehow? What MARP rules apply to this & what's the best way to handle the transfer of the call? Here are the TN printouts for both 2616's.

Digital sets have call privacy, unless there is a 500 in the mix (thus making it an "MIX" appearance). So, phone 1 would have to put it on hold for phone 2 to pick it up. Or, put CLS=POA on both phones, and then they can both be on the call at once; makes it rather like a conference call. -Matt

CHANGE POD TO POA, THIS IS PRIVACY OVERRIDE

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

and marp does not effect that call, marp would come into play if the sta was busy, (hta hunt) or ring no answer.. (fna, fdn) if the sets had diff targets in these fields then the call would follow the setting on the marped with no effect from settings on any other copies of the dn..

Thanks, Matt, Perry & John!
Makes perfect sense now - I've changed to the POD to POA & will go over the changes with the users.
Your speed & wisdom is much appreciated!
