When trying to open MS word the program is not opening. I am given the option to send an error message to MS and when I check for product updated the web site it telling me that there is no solution for the specific problem I am experiencing. What seems to happening is when I send the report the program closes. When I try to reopen Work Docunent2 TRIES to open but I get the same error report....When I try to oopen the program again...it trys to open DOCUMENT3 and then I get the same message.
I am pretty sure that the answer is somewhere in the "REGISTRY" I have already tried reinstalling MS Office and repairing my installation of Office.
Any help would be appreciated.

You may want to find your normal.dot file,(C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates) and rename it, normal.old. Then restart word and see if this helps.

Hi;
Tried renaming normal.dot to normal old......NO HELP. The error message I am receiving is from MS Office.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you don't post the error message, it is very difficult for any of us to ascertain what the problem might be.

I tried to post the error message yesterday....but it was 100's of lines long. It listed like 20 different modules. Where does one begin?

One begins with Word troubleshooting:

Take the steps, exactly in order.

If that doesn't help, the most important part of the error messages are the "in module XXXXX" information. Let us know the names of the modules if they're available. It may say "in module <unknown>" Anne Troy
