i currently have a windows 2003 server, running exchange 2003, AD, and DNS....
i will soon be purchasing another win 2003 server, i would like to move the exchange to this new machine, and completly take it off of the old one, have the NEW server take over the name of the current machine, and rename the current machine....
here is my delima, ive been looking through many microsoft articles, all of which have the desclaimer
The instructions in this article assume that:
• The underlying processor platform is the same on the new server.
• The Exchange server is not a domain controller.
well mine is a DC....what do i need to be looking out for?
ultimatly i want to move the AD and DNS to another machine too, and totally re-set the old machine for another purpose, but right now i just want to get exchange on its own SOLE purpose machine, and keep ONLY AD and DNS on the old machine....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention
of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,
totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
--"WOW-- What a Ride!"
