I am working on a NT 4.0 system and at some point the mouse just stopped working. Im not sure what caused the problem, but the pointer does not show up on the screen.
In the event viewer there is a message saying it could not load mouclass. I tried replacing the mouclass.sys file and the other mouse drivers from an identical workstation but that did nothing.
I have also detached the mouse and it works fine on other systems, so that is not the problem.
We are running Service Pack 5, and only service pack 5 (we cannot upgrade due to business configuration standards). I tried reinstalling the service pack a few times, but again, that did nothing.
When I try starting the Mouse service in Control Panel/Devices, it gives me an error that it cannot find the specified file.
Can anyone help me out on what I can to do fix this problem. Thanks.
