I thought I would post this here as well as the Motorola SM56 modem forum (it gets little traffic). This may be a Win2K issue - registry or something. There is little info on it when I do a search across the internet - and mostly the sites with info are in Polish and Russian!
I keep getting the error: “unable to support current country setting ....” when FAXing. Then the dialog box tells me to reset to USA in the Motorola SM56 modem application in the tray. But it is already set to the USA. This comes up every time, even after changing to another country, rebooting and changing back to the USA and rebooting again! The Motorola SM 56 properties box comes up and I close it, this happens twice before it’s OK, till the next time I send a fax. This has only just come up upon updating my modem drivers to the latest driver set. Now all the features of my modem are employed, but I get this annoying problem. The modem keeps working and sending FAXES in the background despite this error message - it’s mainly annoying and a royal pain. Any help is appreciated.
