When dialing into an SEB from a remote office the connection drops after about 5 min. This happened before and our equipment vender was able to clear out some errors on the PBX to fix it. I dial into multiple other systems that are not PBX's and the connection is fine so its not the modem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Sounds like maybe something with the SEB. have your vendor log into it and see what is going on.

i dial into pbx sebs all the time without having that problem. either the modem is bad or the line.. older seb's had a problem with that, but it has been a few years since i've seen it.. the seb can be set to disconect the modem in case of an alarm on the switch.. then the modem dials a programed number to report the trouble

JohnPoole, how can I determine whether my SEB is set to disconnect in the event of an alarm? I learn something new every day from reading your posts. I always thought my line dropped because of Verizon and I was too unmotivated to place a service call...

look at the seb config as to alarm levels, i don;t have access to that level here at BS but we used to have the entry level password to set them up at sprint.. you'll see a menu driven screen,, don't remember the exact location of the prompt, it's been 8 years or so..
