Hello-

I installed a driver that completely stopped Windows 2000 from starting, whether that be the command line, safe mode or Last Known Good Connection. I've installed the OS again, but it only recognizes drive C:. Drive E:, two 40GB Maxtors with RAID are missing.

Simply, how can I locate the hard drives and make Windows recognize that they're there.

Thank you for any help whatsoever.

Try to manage the computer and then disk management and initialize the disks.

Hey, thank you for your reply. Could it be the drivers aren't in for the RAID. My new problems after loading my video drivers is a NTLDR missing message when rebooting the OS.

I'll think twice before updating third party drivers into Microsoft Windows again. Horrible.

Well, turns out I left a floppy in the drive- that took care of the NTLDR. I'm not sure what is meant by 'try to manage the computer'. In my devices setup I notice a RAID Controller missing. Is this my key (and does it want my asus drivers if that's the case)?

Thanks again.

I ran the RAID controller - as you can tell by now I'm brand new to this and very confused.

Before everything went south I had a 40GB C: drive and two 40GB RAID drives combined into one E:...

After running the RAID Drivers I have an E: and F: drive both showing a 74GB capacity - What is going on here and can I combine them back into one E: ?

Thank you very much for any help.

Ok- After restarting there is only an F: drive. (no more D:)

I have no idea.

Are you using an external RAID controller or W2K RAID? If you're using external controller, you'll need to check your documentation on configuring the RAID array, Usually there is a configuration utility that is accessed by a keyboard switch, before the OS boots. With W2K, right click on My Computer on your desktop and select Manage. Under storage, select Disk Management, here you can assign drive letters to your drives, initialize drives, format drives (be VERY careful), and create RAID arrays...

Good Luck,
