Hello all again,
Curious if anyone can tell me what I did exactly and how to potentially reverse it.

After having to reprogram the entire MICS 7.0, I found out that, after you enter the starting Ext number, in our case 100, it auto fills in the remaining. All our sets occupied Ext 100-131, with 132 being the Gen Delivery MB. So that meant that anything that was originally Ext 131 and above got squished into the open ports below 131 and any that had an Ext number under 131 stayed the same. After moving DNs back to where they belong, I made a bit of a mistake. We had a person with Ext 132, so I went and did a change DN from 121 to 132 before moving the GD MB off that spot. Now when anyone leaves a message on our Ext 132, it goes to the correct mailbox but it doesnt turn on the indicator light showing htere is a message. Now before you say, "turn it back on", when I hit the programmed VM button, or F981, it brings up on the flip LCD "LOG:" like you are attempting to access the MB from a different handset instead of the "PW:" it usually does, then you could hit "*" and go to the "LOG:" screen.

Any idea what I did or how to fix it? I think I had this issue with Ext 131 as well when I tried to move Ext 117 to 131. I think I just moved 117 back to its original, moved 131 and sent 177 to 131 then it worked. I will be trying that again as I finish this up.

Thanks

changing the dn's only make the problem worst because mb's don't follow the dn swap. you should have backed up the entire system first. like curlycord said, you need to see what extensions are assigned to those mb's. when you change dn's the mb's stay where they are originally assigned, which is on that port.

I know what ext were assigned to what mb, thats not the issue. Moving the DN back to where the system assigned it, and then to its proper spot fixed the mb issue with the light. Also check MSG indicator light.

Since my mb was not affected by the issue, everything on it was fine, I just needed to get the DNs consistent with what they were before to align with the mb. Aware that the mb doesnt follow the dn, which is why I was swapping dns. We have a ridiculously easy setup, so Ive seen. The programming side of it isnt complicated, as the most complicated thing we have is a call group.

Thanks for all the info

Curious about this one as I cant seem to find anything here or with my probably poorly formed Google search. When you call into an ext from the outside, you receive the greeting of whoevers MB it is with the instructions to "Hit 6 to have this person paged." Hitting 6 only says "This person is busy" and replays the VM message. Got to be a setting in 983 Im assuming but cant find it. Prolly just need to change a page zone, any direction is greatly appreciated.

let me see if i understand this correctly. you call into the system externally to an extension and you reach that ext's mb which plays the greeting. it then requests you to dial 6 to page the person.

when you dial 6 it reverts to a prompt and replays the greeting in that mailbox instead of paging the person you want. by dialing 6 you are requesting that the system page that person. is this correct???

Very correct. I assume somewhere in programming 981 has to be the setting because nothing on our VM was changed. The only settings that were removed/changed was the base programming so it has to be in there somewhere.

did you set up the mailbox up for paging and did you set paging through sets or speakers??? also number of times to page???

also changing page zone is useless if you don't have any sets assigned to that zone, so keep in zone 1 and set page for sets or both if you have external speakers. you also want number of pages to exceed default. lemme know

yes that is correct, under f983/log/mbox/chng/press next to page type/set page type press ok/retries/ intervals and you are good to go

THought I mentioned it in my first post but, CP150. Trying to page through speakers not sets, the Mailbox was still set up the exact same way it was working before. Hence why I was at first thinking whatever setting has to be in 981 programming.

Ill take a look at what you guys just mentioned and get back to you.

Thanks again.

Page in 983 for every mailbox is set to SPKR, Retries: 1, Int: 15. Pretty sure thats what they were before all this debacle.

Still not sure what Im missing. Was thinking there was something under System Programming in 981 that had to do with some form of paging but I cant find anything to back that up.

Thats prolly what it is. It used to say the persons recorded name followed by the "lady" saying "201". Ill check that out, hopefully that takes care of this shenanigans.

I dont have the option to change the park prefix from 1 to anything. I can choose Lowest or Cycle, both of which dont fix the issue. The rest of the park settings under Sys Programming/Featr Settings are all timers. In the wrong area? Im skimming through the manual and cant really find another area where you can set park features. I do believe it was on Cycle there though, as if a second call would come in, the "lady" voice would increment by one to "202". Called the company who installed the new backplane but they havent gotten back to me with any other ideas......

go to access codes to check you your park prefix and change it to 2 if it allows you to. go into programming to system programming/press show/next until access codes/show/next until park prefix/change. you should be good from there
